concrete and steel and the shoe of my heel
Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 02:21AM Sometimes I love where I live.
I had a good gig tonight.
It was a really tiring day at work and I thought I wasn't totally on my game going in. Dan and I had a warm up jam prior, but I still felt pretty tense. A lack of time spent singing in the last few days, I think. The Central is a funny place.... it always seems weird and unwelcoming at first, but ends up great - feeling like the audience really connected with what we did and the staff totally dug it. I think I may have had some of my best shows ever there, actually.
Back home now and finding much hilarity on the street below. On Friday and Saturday nights, my street is like the world I've seen on TV, but don't really think actually exists. I've never been to any of the clubs I live nearby - the Richmond Street ones, I mean. I wonder if people have a good time there.... it all seems very strange to me. I just heard a bunch of guys walk by talking about something crazy that had happened. When one asked another where this awesome/crazy thing had taken place, the response was "Warden and Ellesmere", which is the closest intersection to where I work in Scarborough.
I think I will shave my beard tomorrow.
Goodnight.
Rob
